Widgets

Transitioning from Mobile Apps

We have already determined that the costs associated with delivering and maintaining mobile apps for our clients is simply too high, and too disruptive to our other business objectives to continue.

The first phase of our transition plan is the adoption and promotion of Partners. Our partners will help us scale and achieve the specific app goals of our clients.

The second phase of this transition will be the creation of "widgets". These "widgets" are meant to be made available as plug-and-play code snippets, that when added to a client's existing website, can quickly add Spoonity functionality.

Building off of Client Success

Most of the clients we already work with have an existing web-presence that they have invested into. Customers know these resources exist and already use them to interact with brands.

Instead of diverting customers away from those existing resources and potential confusing them, it makes more sense to build off of that presence by injecting our platform's functionality directly.

This is also another opportunity to promote and work with partners on achieving more-complex client goals where our existing widgets may not be suitable.

These widgets would be written in common low-level web technologies like Javascript, CSS, and HTML so that they could be extended and customized by more advanced clients. They could be rebranded/styles using industry-standard CSS techniques to fit any website.

Examples

The most common example of added value that our widgets could provide would be onboarding. Being able to add a signin/signup form embedded in the client's sidebar would be exceptionally valuable to help convert website visitors to customers.

That widget could then be bundled with others, like a balance display embedded in the navigation, or an in-app message inbox for clients to use for marketing.
